We are proud to announce the first Migrant Woman of the Year Award, seeking to recognise the woman who has served as a great role model and inspiration for other women in this country. We call on you to nominate the most inspiring woman within your organisation, neighbourhood, town or anyone that has inspired you with her story.

The Migrant Woman of the Year Award has been announced with the intention of it becoming an annual tradition. It has been created by Migrant Woman magazine www.migrantwoman.com with the aim to recognise outstanding migrant women who have been inspiring other women and have achieved success within their particular field of expertise.

We believe that migrant women are strong, capable, devoted, skilful, and talented. They never give up, even when faced with adversity, on their journey to search for a better life for themselves and their children.

This initiative is a test drive, promoting migrant women as a source of intelligence, goodness and full of positive energy. This is to give what we believe as a much more real image of migrant women. It is the message we should convey to the world and to each woman who migrates – that they can succeed. We will choose the place we want to live, the people whom we want to surround ourselves with, and the life we want to lead.

Nominations are open to women who have achieved success in all areas of life, including business, politics, law, consultancy, charity, art and literature.

Judges will be looking for women who have achieved career or life breakthroughs, ways in which women have broken new ground or realised their success by doing things differently from the established norms of their organisation or industry sector. Similarly, they may have helped to remove barriers or opened up opportunities for others, or set out new pathways for the future.
